HAYNZY FEAT. AIDONIA

'THINKING 'BOUT ME'

(CRAZY COUSINZ MIX)

Haynzy

Haynzy discovered his passion for music at a young age, taking inspiration from fellow Brit success Craig David. After some fine-tuning with Rudo Music and producer Dial Tone, Haynzy joined Blue Colla Records launching himself as one of the rare breed of artists who produces note perfect melodies, but more impressively writes his own material.

In May 2009 Haynzy released 'Fallin Alone' which generated some impressive hype, leading to him hosting his own show on Flava TV and sponsorship from mega brand Puma.

If all this hasn't kept Haynzy busy enough - He is one of the faces of Action For Children and has been nominated for the converted Spirit of London Award, which saw him meeting Gordon Brown at Number 10 to discuss the youth of today's involvement in music.

London Born Haynzy has already proved himself as a world player; performing at Atlanta/Georgia's Independence Day celebrations alongside Justin Timberlake's drummer and Neyo's pianist. His fresh sounds and innovative beats will undoubtedly make him the talent to keep a close eye on for in 2010!

ALWAYS TALKING THE HARDEST

Giggs

PRESENTING XL RECORDS RISING STAR

Not many street artists can boast sales of 100,000 mixtapes over two years, and none can lay claim to owning their own shop in order to keep up with merchandise demand. But since 2008, Giggs is the only name that’s mattered where British rap is concerned.

It was in this same year that the south London bred rappers debut, ‘Talkin’ The Hardest’ freestyle, became the unofficial anthem on road.

With mixtape sales going through the roof, Giggs’ (aka Hollowman) debut album Walk In Da Park (which he made in just two weeks and has notched up over 20,000 sales of to date) sold out nationwide, within just hours of hitting the shops.

He also beat the likes of chart topping artist Dizzee Rascal and Chipmunk to win the BET Award for Best UK Hip Hop Act at a star-studded ceremony in Atlanta, USA.

Regarded as the missing link in the hip-hop game. Known for his slow flow, deep vocals and poetic use of slanguage.

Giggs has worked with the likes of Sway, Skepta and Wiley to Shola Ama and The Streets, on the forthcoming single ‘Slow Song’ (produced by and featuring Mike Skinner).

Radio support has come from long-term supporter Tim Westwood as well as fellow Radio 1 DJs including Zane Lowe and Mistajam.

TIME FOR A NEW CHAPTER

Chapter24

"With any justice, they'll be absolutely massive" NME

Chapter24 are Claire Smith (vocals), Joe Green (Guitar), Mel Stark (Bass)and Mark Castro (Drums). Now based in South London, Claire and Mel bonded over the inevitable disaster that was GCSE Textiles and decided to form a band, thus recruiting Joe. After relocating from Northamptonshire to London a couple of years later and finding themselves drummer-less they recruited Mark who perfectly complimented their style.

Major influences having been the psychedelic sounds of Syd Barrett’s early Pink Floyd, and Fiery Furnaces among others, Chapter24 like to write and then perform hectic, danceable pop songs, the order of which is determined by the singer Claire picking them one by one from a shabby but very, very magical teapot. Musically, they are tight yet elastic, springing through a range of time signatures and key changes within each song and their presence is similar – they go from shuffling around in a fixed circle avoiding eye contact to bouncing up and down and crashing into each other whenever the mood takes them.

Chapter24 have recently been noticed by the NME, and consequently featured in the Radar section which followed a successful set at the Moshi Moshi night at Hoxton Bar and Grill. 2010 will begin with a studio session to record some new tracks as well as plenty of what they enjoy most and do best, which is playing live shows!

We have three songs available for you to download. All of which can be found by clicking here !

A NIGHT WITH MAXWELL - REVIEW

THE ACADEMY, B'HAM WEDNESDAY 28th OCT 2009

Maxwell

After a seven year hiatus, earlier this year the soulful brother with hair that most women would have died for made his way back on to the music scene with a new image and a sexy sound that got everyone talking and once again had women highly interested.

The one and only Maxwell hopped across the pond to the UK and I was one of the many fortunate to witness the phenomenal artist and his amazing band live in concert at the Birmingham o2 Academy on Thursday night as part of his UK tour.

The night got off to a bit of a late start and there was no supporting act. This is usually the type of activity that leaves fans annoyed and feeling robbed at the end of the night. But I can honestly say that not one person had a bad thing to say abut the Brooklyn artist as he left every single person in the academy totally satisfied, especially the ladies, and as for the men, well, if they felt that they were being slightly left out Mr Maxwell assured them that if they came to show with a lady, by the end of the night they sure as hell would be more than satisfied! But if they were with a woman that would deliver anything less than complete satisfaction, to send her up on stage and her mind would soon be changed! As I’m a single young lady it was very hard to refrain myself from screaming out “I’ll come up on stage with you anytime boo-bee!” But I guess that the thing or should I say person that stopped me from going wild like a groupie with no other life ambitions than to be with the star of the night was my dad sitting to my right!!! (Note to one’s self, next time leave dad at home!)

The energy throughout the whole show was amazing, the vibes were great and Maxwell sounded great!! He gave us good strong 15+  songs on the night dressed in a well fitted black suit and white shirt which was very mature and sexy, a very good look.

He made the show very personal for all fans by mentioning a couple times on the night how “wack” it was that there were barriers in front of the stage blocking him from fully connecting and getting closer to his fans.

As the night started to get in to full swing which was pretty much straight away, he was genuinely surprised and humbled by the love and support from the audience and constantly thanked us for remembering him. There were a couple moments where he expressed to the crowd how much he couldn’t believe that we knew the words to his songs. Now if that’s not humble I don’t know what is.

He performed tracks from all Four studio albums ‘Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite’, ‘Embrya’, ‘Now’ and his astounding comeback album ‘Black Summers’ Night’ giving each of his band members the chance to shine on different tracks letting the crowd know just how important his band are to him.

Each song was a hit and the band were on point throughout the night in their black matching attire. There were moments when he had the crowd again especially the ladies captivated and had all emotions invested in the songs, especially the one’s that told us all just how down a dirty he got behind closed doors, accompanied by his thrusting dance moves which had a few ladies going wild and working up a sweat, but I think its safe to say that the song of the night that everyone was waiting for was ‘This Woman’s Work’. As soon as the first note dropped the whole crowd started cheering and from start to finish all eyes and ears in the academy were fixated on the stage, but that’s not to say that all the other songs didn’t go down just as good like ‘Until the cops come knocking’, ‘Stop the world’, Lifetime, and of course ‘Pretty wings’ which along with the finale song ‘Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder)’, the huge hit from early 1996 had the star truly at his humblest moment of the night as it reminded us as well ad him why we all fell in love with the caramel complexioned brother in the first place and why we never forgot him.

Over all it was an amazing show and worth every penny, it was refreshing to see real talent mentally, physically, emotionally and humbly connected with his audience and expressing his true gratitude towards the people who allow him to do what he loves.

DEAD MAN RUNNING

OPENING FRIDAY 30th OCTOBER

Dead_Man_Running

ABOUT THE FILM

Detonating a unique, diverse and explosive dream-team of US and British talent, DEAD MAN RUNNING is a heart stopping gangster thriller about one man’s desperate, gripping race through what could be the last day of his life. Violence and vengeance are waiting round every corner. Take a deep breath. Get ready to hit the ground running.

DEAD MAN RUNNING is produced by Premier League and English international football stars Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole, who have brought together a startling squad of talent from the film world: US rap megastar
Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, making his Brit acting debut following his recent appearance opposite Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in Righteous Kill; the prolific Tamer Hassan, seen in Layer Cake, Eastern Promises and the upcoming Kick-Ass; Brit acting icon Danny Dyer, star of The Business, Football Factory, Severance and
Adulthood; Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning British actress Brenda Blethyn OBE, a national treasure of stage and screen; Ashley Walters, one of the UK’s most talented young actors and star of Bullet Boy and WAZ; and Omid Djalili one of the UK’s most notorious comedians best known for The Omid Djalili Show, Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Powered by a edgy soundtrack which includes an exclusive track collaboration by Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, C1 and Ashley ‘Asher D’ Walters and written/directed by Alex De Rakoff (The Calcium Kid), DEAD MAN RUNNING is centred around the world’s recession-era angst. The film captures one of the most prolific and relevant issues in today’s society which has led many people like Nick to go down roads they would not ordinarily pursue in a desperate bid for quick cash inevitably creating the perfect environment for the criminal world to thrive.

I always draw from personal experiences and the colourful people that I have met over the years in my life and through my work. Then I take the characters and elevate them for cinematic purposes.” comments writer and Director Alex De Rakoff.

The story follows Tamer Hassan as Nick Kane, a reformed ex-con with 24 hours to find £100,000 of borrowed blood-money. US rap megastar Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson is Thigo, a powerful New York loan shark who’s jetting across the Atlantic to make a brutal example of Nick and everyone he loves – starting with his wheelchair-bound mother (Brenda Blethyn). Hurtling through the UK’s criminal underworld, from East London’s dog tracks to the drug-dens of Manchester, Nick and his best friend Bing (Danny Dyer) must go to desperate, deadly lengths to scam up the cash before it’s too late. The clock is ticking.
